With the rate of what's unfolding, I have awoken to a series of unfortunate events. There is a newly discovered rouge virus strain, in which health experts say is 70% more transmissible. It is a b*tch on the loose and she is angrier than before. Despite the growing threats, most if not all do not take things seriously. How many more lives to be thrown at the wolves before we learn?
The rouge virus strain is just an icing on top because it doesn't stop there. U.K.'s prime minister Boris Johnson abruptly announced in the media the immediate plan to move London and South East of England to tier 4 which created chaos in airports and train stations because of people scrambling to flee from the imminent lockdown.
Then, everything just progressed into a domino effect. A list of countries (mostly coming from the European Union bloc) began imposing travel bans on United Kingdom. Things have gotten worst and this is not even the plot's climax yet.

My thoughts...
In this unpredictable time that we are currently facing, we need to actively look out for one another. It requires a collective effort to withstand this. Many businesses are closing down. People losing their jobs. There are just widespread uncertainties.
Because of this, it has propelled me to focus on things that actually matter. I have taken things seriously about setting aside an emergency fund for a minimum of 6 months (up to a year) of my monthly expenditures. Moreover, by early next year, I plan to set aside a 40-50% savings rate. This is some kind of my operation pandemic to achieve security. Everything right now is just survival.

I am religiously implementing this Personal Finance Pyramid. Based on Image B (Personal Finance Pyramid), it is important to satisfy the bottom level first before carrying on to the next level as this pyramid follows the Maslow's Hierarchy of needs. It is important to establish a strong and solid foundation because similar to a house, if it is made haphazardly (without careful planning), then it is inevitable that it will not withstand through time.
For now, I want to focus on the two levels on the bottom while surviving through this pandemic. This is the only thing that I can do at the moment. Surviving.
